Work has been completed on six new homes in Othery to Passivhaus low energy standard, using an innovative method of construction that allows the build programme to be reduced. The Society is using a Velox build system on this development as opposed to a more traditional timber frame construction. This method of construction allows for greater flexibility in design and additional insulation for properties, with the aim being to reduce fuel bills for occupiers once they move into their new homes.
We are proud as always to be working alongside Sedgemoor District Council and the Homes and Communities Agency, both of whom have contributed funding to the development so that we can achieve a level of rent that is accessible to people on low incomes in the area.
